What is the OPTIONS Telethon?

OPTIONS Telethon is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in helping people with disabilities live and work in the community.  Members of the community sign up to be "celebrities" and raise money for OPTIONS by asking their friends and business associates to donate.  Click here for a list of Telethon 2008 celebrities.  Local businesses also participate by helping sponsor the Telethon with either a $1000, $1500, or $2500 donation.  Click here for a list of Telethon 2008 sponsors.

Telethon season runs from the beginning of March through the end of April and consists of two main events -- the Kickoff and the Telethon itself:

  • The Telethon Kickoff is the pre-Telethon televised party that features celebrities announcing their efforts to raise funds for OPTIONS and sponsors publicizing their support for OPTIONS.

  • The Telethon, which is also locally televised, is a chance for sponsors to support OPTIONS and for celebrities to recognize everyone who helped them raise the money .  All the individuals OPTIONS provides services for are also invited to the Telethon for food and fun, and they look to the fundraiser with anticipation each and every year.  Telethon 2009 will be held on April 25th from 10 a.m. — 2:00 p.m. at Oak Knoll Country Club in Hammond.
