When Stephen Pirosko first moved to Louisiana,
there were no services available for him in the
community. Parents of other children with
disabilities joined together to begin providing
those services.
Aside from a few years in the public school
system, Stephen has worked at OPTIONS since
1973. He is currently on the shredding crew at
Shreddergator. Many people said that Stephen
would never be able to live and work in the
community. Thanks to OPTIONS, Stephen has a
full and productive life.
Stephen lives in one of OPTIONS Community
Homes. He requires 24 hour supervision, but he
is happy and participates in community events on
a regular basis. He remains in close contact
with his family, but it is OPTIONS who must be
there for the rest of Stephen’s life. When you
donate to OPTIONS TELETHON 2010, you help men
and women like Stephen live and work in the
community.
