Gavin Johnson and Jake
Narro, pictured left, celebrated another successful 100 Holes of
Golf for TELETHON 2009 by collecting $3,388.00. They were the
top celebrities for this year’s TELETHON.
Coming
in second were Jane Terrase and family. Jane is a board member
and her daughter is an OPTIONS client. Center picture, left to
right, are Jane and daughter, Ellen Terrase.
Third
place winner was Peggy Dunn, pictured right with OPTIONS
client and board member Ann Owen. Peggy held a "Bridge the Way
to SAFE HAVEN" Bridge Tournament to raise funds for the TELETHON.
This
year’s TELETHON was held on April 25th at Oak Knoll Country Club
and preceded by a series of events including a Vinyl/CD Sale at KSLU,
a Car Wash, and Bowling Tournament. Smitty’s Supply, Inc. was
the Event Sponsor this year.
Funds for TELETHON 2009 will be used
to replace some of the cuts made to this year’s budget by the State
of Louisiana.
There were a total of 25 Celebrities and 41
sponsors. Emcees were State Representative Steve Pugh, Hammond
Mayor Mayson Foster, Lady Lions Basketball Coach Lori Davis Jones,
and TV/Radio Personality Rosa Dunn. The 2009 Ambassador was Ethan
Guagliardo. |
