Chris Drolla has received
services from OPTIONS for over twenty years. He
was one of the six men who moved into
Fortenberry House when that community home was
opened in 1985. Chris works on the Cleaning
Crew at the TEC building at Southeastern
Louisiana University.
“I love my job,” Chris said, “and I think
OPTIONS is the best thing in the world.” Chris
also likes football and is a big Saints fan.
Chris moved into his own apartment in 1992. He
continues to receive support services from
OPTIONS. He recently redid his bathroom in
black and gold in honor of the Saints’
successful season.
His sister, Cathy Drolla, gives
OPTIONS all the credit for Chris’ progress. “I
have seen how much his self-confidence has
improved over the years because of the training
Chris has received from OPTIONS,” Cathy said.
“I realized just how confident he had become
when we went camping and he told me he wanted
the ‘big’ bed because that’s what he had in his
own apartment.”
Chris will be 66 in April. His
Direct Service Worker, Sabrina Anthony,
described him as “a truly sweet man.” Chris
attends St. Albert’s Catholic Student Center and
takes up the collection each Sunday.
