Helping people with disabilities live and work in the community.

OPTIONS is private non-profit agency located in Hammond, Louisiana that has been providing services for people with developmental disabilities since 1973. The organization was started by parents and continues to have family members on its Board of Directors.

OPTIONS mission is to help people with disabilities live and work in the community. OPTIONS is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, family-like environment.  We work with family members to assist each individual in addressing their individual needs.

OPTIONS operates four community homes that provide twenty-four hour residential services and a comprehensive supported living program.  OPTIONS provides a wide spectrum of vocational training, supervised group work such as shredding, janitorial services, individual job placement, job coaching, family support and transportation.

Many of our staff have been with OPTIONS for 5 to 25 years.  They are devoted to providing quality care.

We particularly invite questions from parents/siblings of individuals who may be moving out into the community for the first time.  Chief Executive Officer Sylvia Bush, who has been with OPTIONS for 30 years, can be reached at 985-345-6269 x116. If you would like to speak to a parent, Sylvia will connect you with a parent who will be able to answer your questions.
